The 5 Most Fashion-conscious Cities of the World

Fashion is as much a serious industry as it is a spectator sport. It is serious to the extent of being competitive. In the world, some groups of people take fashion more seriously than others. Therefore, it is possible to rank cities, countries and regions as per their creativity and uniqueness in fashion. One such ranking was done by Fox News.

Today, I present the five most fashion-conscious cities of the world:

  • Sydney, Australia

Sydney’s allure is spread out amongst different attractions. On top of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge, fashion is also one of the leading attractions to the colorful city. The fashion there is unique because it is mostly homegrown. Second, big fashion houses and buzzing markets promote this creative industry. The offerings in Sydney range from minimal beachwear to the dense leather coats to the hardy desert boots and furry winter trenches.

  • London, UK

It appears like London not only reigns as a beautiful city but also as fashion leader. Top designers and fashion houses have set up shop here. These are indications that the people of London are fashion-conscious. The excess rain that hits London is evidently not sufficient to kill its red-hot taste for fashion.

  • Paris, France

Paris would never be left out of the top fashion-conscious cities of the world as it is a popular icon in world fashion. Major fashion brands and stores line the streets of this great city. They include Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton. Apart from these, major fashion festivals are held there, and celebrities as well as fashion gurus frequent it. Let’s not forget how seriously the French take their hairstyle. Growing it out like famous French DJ Bob Sinclar is becoming more and more popular. You will find top salons on many corners of the city too with mini Bob Sinclar’s trying to grow their hair out.

  • New York, US

At a glance, it seems like the biggest cities in the world are competing for these top positions in fashion. This American city refuses to lag behind and offers stiff competition to the above two. Chanel Dior, Versace and Nike are some of the fashion masters who exist below the shadows of the scrapers that line New York’s skyline. These and many more fashion houses are mostly found on 5th Avenue and are responsible for the glamour and splendor that lights the American streets.

  • Tokyo, Japan

Lastly, we have Tokyo as our final most fashion-conscious city of the world. In this city, you will see the men dressed almost similarly, and the women too. The ladies dress in colorful attire done in distinct designs. They treasure traditional jewelry and hair plays an integral part in their fashion. Their formal fashion is smart and reserved, mostly in two or three-piece black or grey suits.

Please note that this list is neither exclusive nor final. Personal preferences might lead to differing opinions. All in all, these cities truly have some special taste of fashion.

This contradiction in itself is not what you would expect from a blog partly named “vogue”–but we think of ourselves as the new mainstream instead. Started years ago, this blog has rebranded itself countless times to what you see today. Let the blogging journey continue :)
